At the beginning of a new century in January 2000, Gallery Chitrak, started its Journey with Executive Director Md. Muniruzzaman at the helm, well supported by his two directors Md. Zohir Uddin and Ahmed Nazir.
Gallery Chitrak has reached its 23rd year milestone, completing an exciting decade-long journey. Twenty-three years may not be a very long time, but an important landmark, particularly for Gallery Chitrak, since it is a twenty three-year success story for the Gallery for fulfilling hopes and aspirations of the artists and the art enthusiasts of Bangladesh.
However, Gallery Chitrak’s journey is not completed yet. So, Gallery Chitrak is celebrating its 23rd anniversary with a vision of a bigger journey in the next decade.
Our Story
To fulfill that dream, Gallery Chitrak has moved back to their original location from where their journey began at: Road-4, House-21/a Dhanmondi R/A, Dhaka.
This will provide more space, more exhibitions, more programs, more artist’s resources, and further collaboration with social-cultural organizations that are promoting Bangladeshi cultures at home and abroad.

Gallery Chitrak’s collections:
Gallery Chitrak’s collection includes all media-paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures. Gallery Chitrak displays and rotates its collection regularly with the aim of giving maximum exposure of its collections. The collection consists of more than 500 artworks of renowned and promising artists which represent the art movements here in Bangladesh. This collection of Chitrak includes important works of great Masters of Bangladesh like Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, Patua Quamrul Hasan, Shilpaguru Safiuddin Ahmed, Abdur Razzak, Aminul Islam and many more artists of home and abroad.
